Working across the school to explore sound and sound making, listening and conversation using objects that make sound. Developing skills in handling, manipulating and communicating through sound.

Didsbury C of E primary – Music of the World of Islam. Recording voice over for animation.

working as part of a team (with story-teller and animator) I took the children through music of the world of Islam including discussion on the use of music in different cultures, movement to music and ritual. We made a sound orchestra using found objects and explored conducting and controlling the orchestra. Finally we recorded sound effects and a voice over for the animation.

Moston Lane Primary School, – A bug’s Life animation, modeling, filming, sound effects, etc

Working with Anthony hall we made outdoor films and plasticine animations, articulated model, sets and sound effects for films about imaginary bugs. We also explored movement and conversation from the perspectives of other creatures.

St Cuthberts Primary School, – Music, animation, music programming and counting games.

Using music to explore maths and numbers – animating/time-lapse/pattern making, counting games, frequency to pitch relation, drum programming on computers.

Royds Hall Secondary School, – Mixed age design group; Personal Learning and Thinking Styles.

A complex project affecting th whole school. Driven by a core group of design students we examined a cognitive system of self and others called Personal Learning and Thinking Styles. Producing games, characters, education resources, scenes and mini dramas. Later students lead their peers through this learning in a day of peer-to-peer activities.

Colne Valley High School, – Year 10 music group; assistance and mentoring for Holocaust Memorial Day.

Assisting a group of students to compose and perform a piece of music for Huddersfield Holocaust Memorial day.

: Ongoing work with Corali Dance Company since 1999 – a company of learning disabled adults founded in 1989.  Also includes devising and co-leading education projects in SEN schools and mainstream integration projects.

: Action Space Mobile, Barnsley – 2 Day project for Children with ASD and their parents.
